What we check and what we don’t · How scores work

Ask the seller for the plate or VIN in chat, then run a PPSR search on the official site ($2.30 incl. GST, official fee as at 5 October 2026) to see if money is owed.
Check the NZ Police stolen-vehicle list.
Book a pre-purchase inspection.
Never pay a deposit before seeing the car, and check money has arrived in your bank account, not a screenshot.
